WORSHIP
As a congregation, we will organize our corporate worship around the inspired word of God. We will Worship through the Scriptures one book of the Bible at a time. This approach will allow members to focus our daily Bible study and meditations collectively and allow our Sunday Worship (11:00) and Bible Study (10:00) to be a shared experience of our individual worship throughout the week.
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
Romans 10:17
BIBLE STUDY
Unlocking the Meaning of the Text
Each week, we will study a portion of a text to discover its historical, cultural, theological, spiritual, and religious meaning. Our Sunday Bible Classes (10:00 am) will be a time of study and discussion.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness…”
2 Timothy 3:16
SERMON
Applying the Text to Our Faith
During each Sunday Worship (11:00 am) there will be a short sermon in which the application of the weekly text is discussed. This will be an opportunity to investigate how the text can be understood in context of principles for Christian living, worship, and devotion.
“Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.”
1 Corinthians 10:17
COMMUNION
Finding Messiah in the Text
A primary aspect of Sunday Worship (11:00) is participation in the Lord’s Supper. Each week, a meditation from the weekly text will be highlighted in the context of Finding Messiah. This meditation will help facilitate a communal fellowship as we partake in the Lord’s Supper.
“…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
Philippians 4:6
PRAYER
Praise, Petition, and Pleas from the Text
Sunday Worship (11:00) will provide us with many opportunities to approach God as a congregation in prayer. As we study and meditate on the weekly text, we will pray for guidance, wisdom, courage, and necessary Christian traits as we work to apply the will of God to our lives. We will honor God in praise and adoration for those qualities highlighted in the weekly text and request the graces, mercies, and blessings described in the word as we study and meditate.
“…addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart…”
Ephesians 5:19
HYMN WORSHIP
Singing Applications from the Text
Our hymn and singing worship will help guide our minds in the worship service. Looking to the themes, messages, and teachings from our weekly text, we will sing songs, hymns, and spiritual songs selected to encourage, edify, and further center our mind on our worship together.
